At the heart of Boost is the ability to generate a hashtag for your product. Each hashtag is generated utilizing your pre-appended brand name, followed by a sequential 3 digit code. You cannot edit or modify your hashtag or the sequential code at the end of the hashtag.
1) Add your product
To add a product, first click on "Add Product". Then upload an image by clicking to upload or by dragging the image into the product image box. We recommend images with a better resolution up to 10MB in .jpg, jpeg or .png for best results.
Add a name for your product that you and your customers can easily recognize. Then, add a brief description about the item. Then include your price (note that you will be able to offer different price points should you have variations for your product).
Finally, determine if you would like to charge taxes for this item. Taxes are calculated based upon your business' zip code and the zip of the buyer which is captured at the point of purchase. If you do not want to charge taxes, please leave this check box unchecked.
2) Adding product options
Once you fill in the preliminary product information, you will have the option to add product options. If you do not have product options like size, color or feature, you can skip this page and click next. If you do have product options, click on the "Add Option" button to add your first option.
When you click on "Add Option" a window will appear (see below) asking for the option's information. Give the option a title like color, size, material or whatever pertains to your product. Then begin adding the values for that option eg. small, medium or large, or red, pink and blue. Add each option's value and click "Add Option Value". When you are all done entering values, click on Save.
3) Add your items
Once your options are completed, you can begin adding product items. This is where you account for the different versions of your product. Click on "Add Item" and upload the image that relates to that item (the pink beanie rather than the black one) for example. Include a SKU and a different description if you'd like. You can designate a different price for this item and also a different level of inventory for this specific item (eg. you have 100 black beanies, but only 40 pink ones). Once you're done with your options and items, click Save.
Pro Tip: Be considerate of how many options you will be creating. At most, we recommend up to 3 options in total - otherwise, your customers will have to text message back and forth a great deal. It will also require you to create numerous versions as seen below. Check out best practices when it comes to product variation.
4) Establish flat shipping
Currently Boost supports a flat shipping rate. Determine what that price for shipping is and it will be charged to your customer. Leave this field blank if you'd like to offer free shipping. You can also include package size which we are capturing as new shipping functionality will be released.
5) Generate your hashtag
Once you complete your product's shipping details, click "Save". If you set up your product correctly, Boost will generate a #hashtag for your product. Instruct your audience to text that #hashtag to 81000 to buy.
